Advanced to candidacy 🎉

I defended my second qualifying paper, The syllable in domain generalization: Evidence from artificial language learning, at the end of the spring 2023 quarter. This paper presented experimental work showing evidence that learners may generalize phonological patterns to the syllable level. I submitted it as an MA thesis, which is available on ProQuest.

Over the summer, I completed and defended my qualifying exam, The syllable and stress in domain generalization: Evidence from artificial language learning. This work added an additional experiment and discussion of the potential role of word stress in learning.

As of this school year, I am officially a dissertating PhD candidate!
